Why not to buy a PS5 – the 5 reasons

Best 5 Reasons Why Not to Buy a PS5

The PlayStation 4 has dominated for almost a decade but here are our top reasons why you should hold out.

Our 5 reasons are as follows:

1️- Console generations have been getting shorter and shorter each gen, so what makes the PS5 necessary at this point?  Skip straight to next console cycle! Sony has released their new console in late 2020, a plethora of fans are still without getting their console currently in the 2020 because of the lack of raw materials for their components, but we still think that 8 years is a long time to go without buying a new console.

2️- Many people who bought the PS4 felt like they were getting ripped off because it didn’t feature any significant hardware improvements compared to its predecessor. Brands such as Apple and Samsung have repeatedly shown us that consumers are willing to pay more money for incremental performance improvements; Sony needs to make sure they give their fans something truly worth paying for rather than releasing another underwhelming version of its last console.

3️- The PlayStation 4 will not be backwards compatible with PlayStation 5 games and peripherals, so if your plan was just to replace those items then you’ll need to hold out longer. On the flip side, PlayStation 4 games will be forward compatible with the PS5 so your upgrade won’t go to waste.

4️- As it stands, the PS5 is just a rumor therefore we have no concrete details about its hardware or library of launch titles. It’s possible that Sony will once again drop the ball and miss their intended release date which would leave you without a new console for who knows how long.

5️- If you’ve been enjoying playing online multiplayer on PlayStation Network, then plan to keep doing so until there are no players left! Multiplayer has drastically shifted away from split screen and LAN parties in favor of requiring an internet connection; if you don’t switch over to Xbox Live Gold you’ll lose your online multiplayer privileges.

Bonus reason: There are still loads of PS4 exclusives coming out this year that will keep you engaged while Sony works on the PlayStation 5.

The bottom line is that there’s probably not enough motivation for someone who already has a PS4 to upgrade to the PS5 at this time, especially when it could be another 7+ years until the next console generation starts up again! If you’re buying a new console for yourself or as a gift, then definitely hold out for Sony’s PlayStation 5 which is projected to release in Holiday 2020 but it is still struggling due lack of components for their PS5 processors.
