Next-gen gaming is just around the corner. The PlayStation 5 offers the latest and greatest in video games, but its rarity makes it hard to find. So why should gamers keep trying?
1. Exclusives
There are a lot of great exclusives coming out for the PlayStation 5. Death Stranding, Ghost of Tsushima, The Last of Us Part II… if you’re a gamer looking for intense storytelling with memorable characters and emotional rollercoasters throughout, look no further than Sony’s next big console release. All three games have been highly anticipated by fans worldwide following their announcements at E3 2018 at the latest, and each one is releasing exclusively on PS5 — even The Last of Us Part II.
2. Playstation Now
PS Now was launched in 2013 as a way to play PlayStation titles on the computer without having to buy a whole new system. The application itself has been free since its launch, but this doesn’t mean it’s always been successful. In order to use Playstation Now, you need a good internet connection and a controller for your computer. But why should you buy a PlayStation 5? Because recently, Sony has announced that they will be removing all PlayStation 3 games from Playstation Now as of March 29th of 2019 . With the removal of these classic titles, there are going to be even more people looking for an earlier version of their favorite games — why not buy one next-generation console instead?
3. Better Graphics
This is what most gamers care about: graphics. The best video games have always been those with the best graphics, and it seems as though gamers will not be satisfied until they can fully customize their own virtual world. The PlayStation 5 is capable of 4K gaming — meaning that it can play games in brilliant, high-resolution detail. With this heightened level of interactivity comes the ability to create even more realistic video games than ever before. There are two major downfalls to buying a PS5 right now, but why’s that? Because there aren’t any graphics cards or processing units manufactured fast enough for it yet! This means that most gamers won’t be able to buy one until 2020 , so why not start saving up now?
4. Virtual Reality
Virtual reality is already changing the way people play video games — why not buy a PlayStation 5 and get in on the fun early? The PlayStation VR headset came out in 2016, but it’s been discontinued by Sony . In order to play virtual reality games, you’ll need both the headset and a PlayStation Camera. If this sounds like too much of an investment for you right now, why not try some other VR headsets? HP has recently announced their own virtual reality headset, which is currently available for pre-order and will be released on April 2nd (in case you were looking for something else to add to your wish list).
5. Backwards Compatibility
PS4 games are already backwards compatible with the latest version of the console, meaning that gamers can easily pick up where they left off once they buy a PlayStation 5. As mentioned above, the PlayStation 5 is capable of playing Playstation 4 games — why not buy one and stick with what you know? That isn’t to say that Sony won’t make improvements in this department before launch day rolls around. Companies are always looking for ways to improve upon their products somehow, right? Even though backwards compatibility might not happen at initial release, it’s probably only a matter of time before the developers figure out how to include it in their system.
So why should gamers keep trying? It might seem like there aren’t any great reasons why to buy a PS5 yet, but there are plenty more coming! With all of the exclusives and upgrades on offer, why would anyone wait any longer than they have to? No matter why you buy a PlayStation 5, make sure that it’s because you want one — not because you feel like you have to.
